We have gained access to more accommodations for the event in March. They are less than 2 miles from here so are still in an excellent location for this event. Just call or email us for more information.

Update 1/9/09

Friday, January 9th, 2009

The spring season for turkey has been set. The youth season is April 4-5. The regular season is April 20-May 10. The fall season is Oct 1-31. The spring season only allows for 2 bearded birds with not more than 1 taken during the 1st week of the season and not more than 1 on any day. Please make sure you read the regulations for all the details. We are taking reservations here at the resort and part of the season is already full so please plan early. I have seen quite a few birds this winter. For the latest on area fishing please read the comments section from the last post. Hopefully we are done with the worst of the winter weather. Not likely, but hey, I can dream right?

I really hate to use the 1st post of the year for bad news, but we are here to inform so I guess that’s what we’ll do here. There has been a rash of break-ins around here over the past couple of weeks.  Luckily they have not hit us, but they did hit Big Larry’s and Buzzards Roost campgrounds. The Sheriff is working on finding the culprits. If you have a camper up here somewhere you might want to check it out to make sure everything is ok. —-The lake level is back down to a bit over 610. It looks like we are into a nice stable weather pattern over the next 10 days so it might make for a good time to come up and try some winter fishing or small game hunting on all that Corp land. We scored on 11 squirrels this past weekend which makes for a good time and some great eating. —– Mary will be calling over the next few months to confirm reservations and get deposits on reservations that were made early for the 2009 season. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions you might have. We will be at some of the boat shows this winter so stop in and say hi.
