Update 3/31/13

Sunday, March 31st, 2013

Happy Easter everyone. Mary and I certainly had a great Easter as we got to spend it with our new grand daughter- Brooklyn Mae. She was born Wednesday evening. Her and Erin are both doing fine. Travis is also surviving.

Lake level is at 608.9. It has held pretty steady the past 2 days. As we were gone to Kansas City for the weekend I do not have anything pertinent to report as far as fishing goes. I did notice the courtesy ramps are not in place yet at the SouthFork ramp. With the temp supposedly going to be about 70 by next weekend I think we can count on some people getting out fishing. I will let you know what we hear.

FYI…..we will be closing the store at 12:00 on Sundays so Mary and I can get some fishing time in.

Update 3/15/13

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

Lake level is at 619 and I have to say it is great to see some water in it again. The island at the North and South Fork split is no longer visible. As I drove across the bridges today I did not notice any large amount of trash on the water and it was not colored like chocolate milk. With the weather coming in this weekend I would guess tomorrow would be the day to be on the water. Crappie should be starting to head towards the spawning areas. I would try the mouth of the coves and river branches in 20 FOW or so next to any cover you might find.

Remember, on the 23rd of this month we will be doing the tree drop. If you are interested give us a call. I know they could use some help up at the other end of the lake as well. You can sign up there by calling the Corp Office at 573-735-4097. Your help will be appreciated and that is the best way to know right where the tree’s are dropped.

Update 3/8/13

Friday, March 8th, 2013

Lake level is at 604.7. I can’t say what the water temp is due to the gauges at the dam being out for the winter. We still have a lot of snow on the ground but there are a couple of ramps open. Indian Creek and SouthFork are passable. Hopefully the rest will be open soon.

The store is officially back open for the season. Our hours are 7:00 am till noon on Sunday through Wednesday and 7:00 am until 6:00 pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
