Update 12/20/14

Saturday, December 20th, 2014

Lake level is 602.7. The lake is not iced over yet so fishing is still an option.

CRAPPIE: There have been some people out on the water but we have not gotten a lot of feedback as to how they are doing. I do know of a few who have been catching fish. The crappie will likely be schooled up now. Fish the bluffs, bridge piers, and submerged structure such as brush piles. Cold fronts will push them deep, I have heard of catching them as deep as 35 feet down in 90 FOW. Warm days and sunshine will bring them up closer to the top in the 7 to 10 foot range.

BASS: No reports

CATFISH: There have been a few people out fishing for blue’s and channel’s. No reports as to how they did, but it should be a good time to fish up near the dam.

All of us here at SouthFork would like to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and we hope you have a fantastic New Year. I hope your stocking is stuffed with all the new gear you need to make next season your best ever.
