Update 2/26/2010
Well, February is almost gone. The Twain is still pretty frozen with the exception of under the bridges and up at the dam. The ice is looking pretty shaky though, so it won’t take many nice days to clear it off. No change in the plans for the Christmas tree drop scheduled for March 20 or 27. I will keep you posted as I hear more. It sounds like we will most likely be dropping mostly cedar trees on this end of the lake. — Thank you to all who have been calling to confirm your reservations and getting your deposits in. It helps us through these long winter months, plus Mary gets to chat a bit. — We are looking forward to some nice weather!!

Just an FYI if anyone is interested……we saw our first flocks of snow geese flying over today. I believe hunting season is open for them and you can take as many as you like. Make sure you check your regulations to be certain.

Will be down March 5-6-7- and was wondering if any ramps were open. Thought
maybe they might be in your area. Last year March 15 son and I went out
with Lynn and caught 17 nice croppie, what a difference a year can make.
Thanks Ben

Right now none of the ramps are open as far as I know. The only options for boat fishing right now would be below the dam, over on the Mississippi River, or over at Thomas Hill.

Ron, Do you know if shell branch and/or sandy creek are thawed, if so share the news. I spoke with Mike M. (Mr EIS) today it looks like he will be visiting MT more this year.

We are still froze up pretty solid here. From what I could see none of the ramps are open yet. The warm weather this weekend should help quite a bit, but I doubt the ice will be gone for at least another week. Bring Mike up sometime so the poor guy can catch a fish or 2.

Will do, but poor guy, I do not know about that one. Thanks for the info.
