UPDATE 12/23/17

Lake level is 601.9 and holding very steady. Water temp is hanging about 40 degrees. Crappie are still biting. Fish the bluffs and bridge piers. Deep wood is also producing some fish. The fish are nice size this fall with most in the 10-12″ range.

Mary, myself, and the rest of the gang here at Southfork would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year. The store is mostly closed for the winter but if you need something don’t hesitate to call. You can still call for reservations as well. We do still have minnows.

For those that have had anything stolen from their boats or boat trailer, they’ve caught someone that has admitted to stealing and selling props from boats at the marinas. They also allege he stole boat tires from trailers around the lake. A bit of good news to end the year on.

In regards to Larrys post, if any of you have had items like this stlen this past summer I would suggest you get ahold of law enforcement in Monroe City. He needs to be charged with as many of these crimes as possible so others thinking of doing this type of thing will think twice.

  8. Doug.. Says:

Happy New Year everyone! It is a little early, but best wishes to all. Doug

  9. Ron Says:

all docks are out and the lake is pretty well froze over as of this morning.

  10. Doug.. Says:

I wonder if the ice on the lake is thick enough to go ice fishing? I don’t ice fish but I’m surprised no one has tried it yet. Doug

  11. N2Crappie Says:

Is there any open water below the dam?

  12. Bill W. Says:

Doug, The ice is only about 2-3 inches thick from what I am hearing. I have never seen anyone ice fishing on this lake though. But that is just
    me.
N2Crappie, The re-reg pool had ice on it this morning when I crossed the
dam. I would think by this weekend with the warmer weather coming it may
    be open.
